Is it time to make the move back to American cars?
This is not a bad looking car with the leather, and is supposed to be very quiet.

If you find the idea of driving a Buick appealing, I don't doubt that it's a decent car. Frankly, though, (and I sincerely don't mean this to sound snotty), Buick seems to me to be the stodgiest carmaker in the world bar none, and the LaCrosse is a rather feminine, kludgy design. I don't really like the current Accord or Camry, but I'd take either of them (or an Altima, Azera, 300, or others) over a LaCrosse. At the end of the day, though, it's your money - just make sure you test drive the competition before buying.

Thats probably exactly the type of car we will get once we are over the minivan
Style is subjective, if you like it good enough.

Buick will have a lower resale if you buy new so buy one a couple yrs old then or if you keep them a long time like I do, it doesn't matter.
Buick itself is a pretty good car

buick makes some great cars. Their design choices are sometimes a bit interesting, but they are quality rides.

It is a nice car, for 1995. The LaCrosse does nothing that another car in it's segment does better. It is far less safe, far less functional, far less efficient, ...

Isn't Buick the best selling car in China? Chinese love their Buick.

My dad has one. I think it's very nice.

I figure he'll give it to me when he tires of it 6 or 7 years just like he did with his last car. He'll be about 90 yrs. old then.

Yeah, my understanding is that Buick is a highly prestigious marque in China. Fortunately we don't live in China.

GM really got their act together recently and I would not hesitate to say they make quality cars. Also, the americans know how to make a comfortable car. I wouldn't associate "sporty" with Buick though. As long as you don't mind taking a huge depreciation hit (or are buying used), I'd say go for it. There was a time not that long ago when I wouldn't touch a GM car with a 10 foot pole, but I find their recent offerings to be quite competitive.

My last car was a 2006 LaCrosse. I put 30,000 miles on it over two years. I never had to take the car in for anything during the time I owned it. By that I mean nothing broke - no warranty issues.

I put gas in it, changed the oil, rotated the tires, and drove it.

I has a nice ride, is very quiet and the 3.8 engine performs very well in the car.

If it has curb appeal for you, I'm certain you'd be happy with it.

Don't bow to the peer pressure here. Buy what you want to buy.

I had a Buick LeSabre. Great car, and the 3.8L is one of the best motors ever made. Not the most fun or sporty thing, far from it, but was a solid car for me. Test it, and test some alternatives, the bottom line is you have to be happy with it. Who cares what anyone else thinks, you're the one who's gonna have to live with it for a period of time.

I'm 17 and drive a '98 Lesabre with that 3.8L. Such a tank, and the car is very comfortable.
