I sold a combo asus nforce2 deluxe with amd xp2400+ for someone. He come back told me that this problem is due to either motherboard or cpu. Here is the problem
The board did boot up and can go to the bios. CPU detected.
He install winxp, everything seem fine , the problem occurs when the drives finished format and copy all the installation file and reboot to where you can see the picture and entering those info. During the reboot, the blue screen come up saying that windows shut down to prevent... errro. 000xxx stuff like that.
He said it is the board or cpu fault but I don't think it is. Please anyone has this problem before

He use this to install
Maxtor 60G
DVDrom
512MB 1 stick Spectek PC2700
300W Macron power supply
that it.

thanks guy

Problems which occur at the same point during windows setup are often ram related.

I'd also go with RAM (I wish my last problem like that was RAM :().

Tell him to make sure the PC2700 memory is running at PC2100 speed, not PC2700 speed. He can do that by making the memory run at "100%" of CPU speed in the BIOS.

I also question using that power supply, because I don't know the brand Macron and I wonder if it is any good. I recommend Antec, Enermax, or Sparkle Power, and 350W+. Quality first, and more wattage is good too, as long as it's quality wattage :)
