I was once out with some friends around 1 AM. We went to Hardess and got a bite to eat. Some police came in and got all mad at us that we were selling drugs or something. We werent, they searched us. We got in a big arguement on how we had a car and we would drive home. The thing is, we had a cell with us and we had permission to be out late. Whats up with this!?!?!

Permission means nothing, if you're under the curfew age you're subject to it unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Travel to/from Work/school are the only exceptions.

In Canada if you're a teenager out past midnight and the cops nab you it's an automatic 48 hour stay in jail.

Seriously :Q :D

Sweet! :)

When I was a kid me and my friends weren't aware there was a curfew for 16 year olds. We went down the the 7-11 to get pop/munchies during an all-night D&D fest and a cop was in there and informed us. Luckily she didn't do anything.

I wish kids were told this kind of stuff.

Actually they don't do that in Canada.

The curfew isn't so much for the safety of you, but for the safety of other people who know that normally youngsters up that late are bad doing drugs, spray painting walls, and driving fast!!

Uh, I always thought parents set your curfew?

A lot of towns set curfews. I remember growing up my curfew was 11pm during the week while school was in session (unless coming home from work) and 12am on the weekend.

Theres really no reason for kids under the curfew age to be out at all hours of the night anyways. Thats when the majority of mischief happens.

Man that sucks. I never had a curfew growing up. As some of you know I'm not from some small town either. But whatever, not much you can do to repeal the laws. All the adults like them I suppose.

No, your city/county probably has one on the books as well.

Whoa, didnt even know those really existed. I'll have to check it out. Maybe in my area (DE) those are either non existant or not enforced, because I've never heard of anyone say anything about a curfew...

kids their age don't care about "safety" they care about having a good time.
i understand your perspective, but you have to understand theirs.

No I don't. They are underage. They don't get a perspective until 18.

The people that make the laws understand kid's "perspective" perfectly clear...and that's exactly why there is a curfew.

Right now I live in Philly. I grew up in Exeter. I don't know of any curfew in either of them(not that it matters, I'm 18). If there WAS a curfew in Exeter, it sure wasn't inforced. Closest thing to a curfew is the PA jr. drivers lisencse.

I understand that curfew can be annoying, when I was 16 I was working full time on a graveyard shift. Since my schedule was set to work all night, my days off started around 6 PM & went until 3-4 AM typically. Sucked being limited to midnight & the rest of the night at home.

Of course I didn't always follow it, but usually if I wasn't working I tried to be out of town before midnight.
