OKAY, so I sound like a dork. But seriously...what is wireless networking? I know it hooks two computers together, but is that it? Can I share files with the other computer? Can I play somebody else on the other computer? Can both computers get on the internet through on phone line? Somebody explain this to me. If I do get wireless networking what do I need? I have two desktop computers and want to hook them up. Any info you can give me will help. Thanx alot guys.

Yes you can share files and play games, if you have the correct equipment you can use all of the machines through a phone line, and yes, you should have looked this up. 🙂

I like the Apple airport and airport cards. They seem to be pretty good. If you need PC equipment most major networking companies out there make some equipment (cisco, linksys, netgear, etc). Look for reviews on the web to see what is best.
 
 
I was going to go wireless, but it is to expensive for me. So for like $40.00 I am going HPNA, though it will cause me to run a phone line (I already have the cable). Don't forget the HPNA option, Anand's article shows that it is faster than wireless too, but wireless is kind of nice, if I had a laptop I probably would do wireless.
