Been a customer since 2005 and fixing to leave for Tmobile. What is the best offer you have received from Verizon for you to stay with them?

As a T-mobile customer, I'll tell you what Verizon can offer you: Decent internet access.

Yup. T-mobile just launched 3G in major cities. Most of the country is still on EDGE. And AFAIK there's no 3G wireless card available for laptops yet. T-mobile is hopelessly lost when it comes to internet.

By comparison, I believe Verizon has the best wireless internet service in the country.

Verizon pissed me off with their requirement for a data plan with all new smart phones. Fucking stupid shit. :|

Paying $10/mo for unlimited data through Alltel. ;)

Of course I'm sure that will be nixed once I'm officially a Verizon customer.

This is the norm. Try to buy any phone at the 2 year contract price without data. All say that the contract price is with 2 year agreement and qualifying data plan. If you pay full price for the phone, you can get it without data.

It's only recently that Verizon made you buy a data plan when you got a smartphone. Before, you could get a smartphone (my roommate has an HTC Titan without a data plan; he got it last year?) on just a regular plan.

What is the point?

I don't have a Verizon data plan. I haven't changed my plan in 3 years, but last time I checked the options were $25 for 10 MB or $45 for unlimited. Now I look and it's $30 for E-mail and Web, and still $45 for unlimited/unrestricted.

Use it as a PDA.

Or some do wifi... when I was looking for my last phone there was only one that did wifi though, and it sucked. Maybe that has changed.

<- $30 here.

Thanks BB Curve.

Not if you want to connect to a BES server you need the 50 dollar a month service.

coverage is too good to leave Verizon.

Also have a smartphone w/o a data plan - you can do this when you order online - it lets you choose the $0.00 kb plan. What is the point? THat's like saying having a desktop without internet is pointless. It is not. You can't do as much but there is still a lot there.

Where I work it's Verizon or nothing as no one else has even a weak signal, Verizon put in a cell site a few years ago just for where I work so that there was a backup phone system in an emergency. Before that it was wired phone or 3 miles to a weak signal and about 7 to a reliable one

Exactly what you qualify for.

Why do people expect something special just for paying their bill on time?

It's the Idiotic way.

Fixed.

I mean, seriously. You don't demand special treatment from your power company, or the water company, do you?
