i'm trying to plan a snowboarding vacation this winter for my buddies. i actually had my heart set on whistler, but my friends suggest that we save money on airfare and just drive to utah (from california).

i was wondering if anyone could tell me the best snowboarding resort in utah. going to utah's website, they have these skiing resorts:
alta
beaver mtn
brian head
brighton
canyons
deer valley
park city mtn
powder mtn
snowbasin
snowbird
solitude
sundance
ogden
provo

out of those resorts in utah, which one is the best? anyone from utah with advice? thanks in advance for the replies.

Boarding is banned at Deer Valley, but it's one of the poshest places to ski in the world. Park City and the Canyons offer great boarding and skiing. All three, Deer Valley, Park City and the Canyons are all right next to each other.

From what I understand, The Canyons is the premier boarding park in Utah.

My brother has a house in Deer Valley, I've never felt a need to go anywhere else outside the three Park City ski areas.

Alta doesn't allow boarding. Personally if you like vertical I think you will like snowbird the best. To be honest though, if you are going to ski more than one day hit more than one place. If you stay up in summit county you can easiily hit Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley. If you stay in SLC you can hit snowbird, brighton and Solitude (Alta to if you want to ski).

Alta and Snowbird are up the same canyon and right next to each other. Brighton and Snowbird are up the same canyon and right next to each other.
