What is up with the SETI servers?

It's taking forever just to get connected to them, and then once the WU DL starts the transfer rate isn't too great. Are they having unannounced server problems or something?
 
Mine don't seem to be having trouble either. What time do you guys have your SetiQ's connect to the server? I connect between (Edit: trying again 😱...standard time now...that would be...) 0400 and 0500 UT, to make sure everything shows up on Nexus9's stats.
 
Hey, give em a break, they are non-profit. Their web page servers average over 20 hits per second 24 hours a day, and that's just the wimpy web servers. The data servers have to serve much more info, and considering they are doing it on a shoestring and borrowed bandwidth from Cal, I think they are doing a commendable job.
 
I have the problem, where I leave the computer for 24 hours, and come back to find that the client hasn't been working for 16 of those. It sends away the last finnished WU fine, but its stalled waiting to download another. So I switch over to RC-5 and try downloading a new WU 5-6 hours later.. It usually works then. This was the reason I switched to RC-5 before.. I came back to SETI thinking it was fixed.. I guess not...
 
Daz, no, the SETI people haven't figured out how to fix their problems yet. But you can fix the problems with any of a number of programs, like SetiDriver or SetiQ that cache WUs.
 
I have problems yesterday too, had to keep reconnecting to get my WU. after about 3-4 tries it started transfering slowly.
 
Problems here too, I lost about 4 hours. It sent in a unit then crapped out. I had better load Seti driver before vacation..

BTW setiq will save any results which the server claims are duplicated

You definatly need setiq or seti driver to get you through server outages! 😉 (BTW SETIQ has been around for over 1 yr now!🙂)

True enough ,we're just voicing the fact that the servers are havings probs.I could only connect at 6.30-7.00 am today 🙁
