What is up with the clip on my PAL6035?

I got all of my stuff in today for my new computer and my PAL6035 is giving me one heck of a struggle! I can't for the life of me get the clip wedged into the fins so it will go on the processor. Does anyone have any tips? I've never heard this problem discussed before - am I doing something wrong? Geez this is tough. I'm frustrated - I need to get up and running soon :-/
 
Well it will only fit in 1 way (parallel to the fins horizontal clearings)....so....
Just line it up over them (there's only 3-4 rows of pins on either side), and push it in (wont take much force at all)
