I love Simon, hes the most entertaining man on television.

He tells it like it is, which is what most of the world needs to hear today. If you suck, he will tell you that you suck. This world has been pussified into thinking that blunt truth is a bad thing.

If you cant take criticism, then just dont try, because your a weak little person and dont deserve to be in the spotlight.

If is wasn't for his ripping, the show would be pretty stupid IMHO

I dunno, maybe he can just sing a little, maybe not at all, but I can't really think of a profession where a coach or something is always GREAT at what he coaches...sports, talents, anything. The coaches maybe not have the natural ability to sing, but they have the ability to discern good from bad, moreso than most people, and thus that is their ability. They make use of what they're given, and they succeed, good for them. Look at Sean Combs. :) Some people might be born with an amazing voice, but w/o someone telling them how to harness and perfect it, who to market it to, what to do and what not to do, they may never make it farther than the local talent competition. Just IMO...yes, he's an asshole, but he's an asshole that's good at what he does, which is spot talent.

Who is he? Its his company that will be giving the $1million contract. Hes not just a talent scout, hes a record executive. He and the black guy know what they are talking about, they are both in the record biz in a big way, they are both executives and producers. They know what it takes to be a success. Hes not a coach, hes a buisnessman, hes there to make money, and he knows what it takes. He has every right to be how he is, hes the one signing the winner. As he told Paula on the first show yesterday, "Would you pay this person $1million, its my money and I wouldnt"

Alot of people need to be told bluntly they suck. Look at lastnights, and tonights. Some people suck but think they are so good, and the judges are wrong. Like that guy in Miami that kept trying to go back.

These people are real, its not acting, however they purposely let bad people go on past the first phase of the auditions to see the judges. If they didnt it wouldnt be entertaining. I swear there were some that just went just to get on TV. Either that or they were deaf.

if he just gave the truth, he would just say "you suck". i seriously doubt he actually believes there is no other person who can sing as badly.

He's just telling the truth. He doesn't have to be able to sing, that's not what he's paid for. He's paid to find people that CAN sing. Obviously if he sees someone who can't he's going to tell them they're horrible. It's better than letting people get their hopes up when they suck.

Although he does say a lot of people are the worst singer in the world...

Have you seen how some of these people reacted? They need to be told in overly harsh ways, that they suck, not just that they suck. It would do a service to them if they listened and stopped wasting their time and money when they obviously cant sing no matter what they seem to think.

I disagree. I admit that I can't sing and I am not a talent scout but a lot of those people are just gawd awful. Its really sad that some of these people think they are good enough to make it on their first try. If you were really serious about being the winner, I think you would take some singing lessons prior to audition. I mean, don't these people make a recording of themselves to play back?

Yes, you can just tell everyone that comes in and didn't make it, "Oh sorry, you arent what we are looking for." But where is the constructive criticism in that? Face it, a lot of people can not sing.

uh.... did you not read what i wrote? or are you purposely ignoring what i said... or do you really think that everyone he says that to is really the worst singer he has ever heard... worse than all the other ones he said the same thing to just 10 minutes ago.

the guy is an asshole, plain and simple... he could just tell them that they're really bad at singing, but instead, he tries to come up with some witty asshole remark to do it with. *shrug* maybe it's just for ratings.

Doesn't matter.... Everyone(well, except the singer) knows he's telling him/her that she sucks and will never make it. No one's keeping tabs on who's really the worst...

He was on the Daily Show (with Jon Stewart) last night. He was a pretty boring guest but did mention that he had to sit through over 500 idol-wannabes a day.

I think a lot of people would start getting irritated and abusive after the first few hours of that, barring use of drugs and/or alcohol.
