What is up with my PLEXTOR?

I bought some generic 16x 80 min CompUSA CDR's.
Tried to burn a 680 meg file on it.
First 5 discs crapped out at 80%.
Exchanged it to CompUSA thinking it was a bad batch.
Tried again.
Crapped out at 80% again! :|

Anyone else have similar problems? I tried the exact same process on another brand of media and it worked fine. I used Nero, EZCDCoaster, and CDRWin. BTW, I have the 8/4/32A Plexwriter.

Aren't you getting the mesage that Comp USA's CDR just don't work in your Plextor.Plextor now ships a Verbatim cdr and cdrw with their latest units.

Hey Mixxen,

I've got TDK Velo-CD 12x8x32 CD-RW (a re-badged Plextor) with Nero 5.0 software. I've had no problems with any type of media I through at it, but if your looking for something inexpensive and reliable, I picked up a 50 pack of PNY 700MB CD-R's from best buy for 14.99 less a MIRB; final cost; about 8 bucks for the spindle.

Haven't had a coaster yet. They're rated at 1x - 16x compatable.

Hope this helps.

Peace, and 10x Karma
