Met one of my clients today and she had a problem not be able to see 'Make Available Offline' when right-click on a file or folder under Windows XP.

Her 'My Document' is pointed to a server and the server is running Windows 2000 Server with offline files enabled.

When I right-click on 'My Document' I don't see 'Make Available Offline' there.

Other clients in the office have Windows 2000 workstation and they can make any files or folders available offline.

What's up with missing offline files tab under XP?

I've heard someone saying that I must disable 'Fast User Switch', 'Terminal Services' and 'Remote Desktop' in order for offline files to work. I've tried disable it and it is still not working.

It there a fix for this kind of problem?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you do have to disable Fast User Switching to enable Offline Files. To do so go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Under Pick A Task -> Change the Way the User Logs off, and "un"tick Use Fast User Switching.

Unfortunalty if it is Windows XP Home, it does not have support for Offline Files

Also to if it is a 2000 domain that you are running, Home does not offer support for the additional network features, like domain support that pro does
