Shipped a package today for $13.32 via Home Delivery from a Fedex Staffed World Center...

When i got home, the price seemed a little high to me, so i run the numbers online and it shows the package should have only cost $8.67 to ship.

I call fedex, she confirms $8.67 but cant explain why i was charged more and won't refund the difference.

I think look for a receipt from another fedex package i shipped out 2 weeks ago, ran the numbers, again, another $3.72 overcharge from what it should cost. This from a Fedex Kinkos.

WTF is going on here?
 
Nope, no extra services....

And i called Kinkos, they said they use the standard fedex rates, no surcharges like those pack and ship stores.

The one today was at the real fedex location though, where i go to pick up my packages when i miss them...
 
I've found UPS services from Staples is the same way. Just a few percent more expensive, though they advertise otherwise.

I'll stick with USPS unless I absolutely MUST ship otherwise.

But thats a contract unit, they are allowed to surcharge... Fedex Staffed locations and Fedex/Kinkos are not supposed to.
