What is up with Asus probe?

This software must be wack or something. It says my temps are 21 c on the mb and 50c on my cpu. When I go into the bios the mb temp is 21c, but my cpu temps are 30c. 20c difference? I don't think so.

Can someone recommend a good temperture program?

Thanks

Same thing here. And SiSoft Sandra reports the same temps as my BIOS. Strange, huh? Why is PCProbe so different? Is it pulling the temps from another source?

Those temperatures are low. I too am using Asus Probe V2.11, and have an overclocked Pentium3 600E @ 840
My idle temp is 54 deg Celsius processor, 24 deg C mobo. When I play games like quake, or even running RC5 the temps sky rocket to 65-70 degrees C or 150 degrees F.

btw, I have applied a thin amount of thermal paste, and musing a dual fan intel HSF and everything is secure. I've had no problems with the OEM fry's bought processor and have had this computer for 2 years.

I guess that means the program must be messed up...

U sure your bios is correct, cause 30 degrees C is cold for a processor using just a HSF.

I just ran 3dmark2k1. I used Sandra to check the temps. Its at 32 c for the cpu. I am running a 1.8a Northwood with retail hsf.

Back in the day, i had an asus cuv4x motherboard. I basically discovered that ASUS Probe as a worthless, stinking pile of cowdung. try using motherboard monitor 5. I got much more accurate and stable results with it.

Cheers,
Butch
