What is Ultra DMA66 and how do I know if I'm using it?

Sorry for the simple question. I have an Asus K7V mother board and got board the other night and was reading the manual. It says it's supports UltraDMA66. I belive that is the transfer rate between the MoBo and the HD?? How do I know if I currently use that, and if not, how do I? Thanks!

It's automatic and backwards compatable. If you have a UDMA 66 HD, then it will automatically use it. If your HD is IDE, EIDE, UDMA33, then it will go at whatever those speeds are. If you have a UDMA 100 HD, then the transfer will go at the max (UDMA 66).
