what is "turndown service"

when hotels say they have "turndown service", what exactly is that? i get "turned down" enough on my own...;)

wow, i've always seen that on hotel ads, but never realized it was something as trivial as that. why not advertise "complimentary lighting and indoor plumbing"???

Because it makes you feel pampered. They come in and move the heavy top blanket to the end and turn your sheets all nice and purdy and leave a mint..

they also left orchids at the hotel we stayed at in Hawaii. :)

It's just a luxury. Some hotels will do laundry, and lay out your clothes for you also.

Yeah on my cruise they left towels in the shape of animals (different animal each night)
