1) Multi-headed snake at the top
2) Some god on each of the doors
3) The shrine might be empty, cant see whats inside of the doors.

Buddha and Lord Krishna/Vishnu are depicted commonly with a snake.

According to Wikipedia, "Buddhist household shrines must be on a shelf above the head; Chinese shrines must stand directly on the floor". If this is a shrine, it is probably Chinese, no?
