Tsunamies, earthquakes, rising gas prices, war, inflation, terrorism, global warming
the human race IS slowly killing itself. we just keep multiplying with no thought for the environment. call me a tree hugger, but when your children's children's children have no goodplace to live you might think otherwise.
i really don't know how we can dig ourselves out of this hole; does anyone have any SERIOUSLY FEASABLE ideas/plans of action? just wondering
hope this dosnt turn into a giant flamewar, really there is nothing to argue about is there? its pretty obvious that things are starting to go downhill.

It's coming to the point where we can't even spell "coming" anymore!

So what... by the time anything so drastic happens to this world to cause severe panic to everyone on the earth i will be dead, my kids, their kids, and so many more generations. my genes will be so far removed it wont matter.

I agree. I am worried, but I'm not sure what I can do. I'm afraid that while I may grow up decently without worrying much about oil and natural resources, I'm not so sure my kids will have the same luxury. One can only hope.

Ok first of all, tsunamis and earthquakes are natural disasters so it's not what humans do.

Rising gas prices and inflation are a natural byproduct of a free market economy so clearly you know nothing about economics.

We just keep multiplying with no thought for the environment? China currently has the one child policy, good luck trying to get the rest of the world to play along. maybe your parents should have started the 0 child policy.

war is inevitable because of human nature. There will always be the haves and the have nots. People will always have desire for more, more of everything. And the moment you have more than someone else, they will be willing to go to war to get what you have. Terrorism is just another form of war. It's a war in which they wish to inflict the maximum results with the minimum resources. basically it's the most efficient way to fight a developed nation. If you find a solution to peopel not fighting.. well... ill give you 5 bucks.

As far as global warming goes, this is pretty much the only thing that is fixbale. theres already R&D going into alternative fuel sources. The car companies aren't retarded, they know that the oil will run out so obviously they're trying.

you're wrong, there WERE so many. They didn't seem quite as bad since people weren't clustered together so much.

Seriously, guys. The Cold War generation had a RIGHT to believe the human race was going to kill itself...they were under the constant threat of thermonuclear war. No one can claim the human race is going to kill itself NOW...

Of course, every generation thinks that everything has been going downhill ever since they were kids. Nope, things change, some good and some bad, but the general trend has been good.

I only plan on living through the next 60 or 70 year so I'm really not concerned with the rest.

Honestly it doesn't really matter, we haven't even been around that long, chances are we'll find other planets to colonize and we'll just go from there. No matter how deep a hole we dig, we'll have technology to dig us out.
