What is this: worker_thread_returned_at_bad_irql ?

I had this BSOD a few times during the past 24 hours now and never saw it before. What does this mean? Thanks

It means exactly what it says. A driver's worker thread returned at an illegal IRQL.

Of course, that doesn't help you much.

What it means to you is that you've got a driver on your machine that's crashing your box.

It means that a VXD or DLL file is not behaving nicely with the OS.

What OS are you running and What have you INSTALLED lately?

I've actually seen this happen with Win2k/XP and Norton System Works,
and people forgetting to disable Norton when updating video drivers and printers.
