I know you all use Win2k, why don't you use another O/S? like 98 or ME? I know Win2k is good because it doesnt crash and freeze as much, but why not use those O/S i said above.
 
Then why use something that causes more problems by crashing more?

What is wrong with using Win2K over Win98 or WinME if it is more stable?

Most of the time there's tradeoffs and people are torn between things.

But with win 98 and 2000, there's really NO benefit with 98.. Less crashes, better memory usage. MAYBE if you have a lower end machine you'd be better off with 98, but that's it.

I haven't used 98 in months and I recently wiped it out completely.
 
I use it because the icons look cooler, the background is a nicer color and there's that cool shadow effect =D
 
If Win2k runs fine, why use an OS that isn't as good?? Other than stated, if it's a slower computer.

I ran win2k + win98se for a week or so but everything worked in win2k so I recently formatted and put on just win2k.

And yeah the shadow effect and moreso the fade in effect is very cool. 😀

And I swear Tribes 2 loads faster. w00t!
