What is this washing machine part called?

This is the washing machine that came with our house and I've already fixed 2 things on it. One was the pump and I've replaced the motor. And now I have another issue.

The other day my wife was washing and it wouldn't spin anymore. I emptied it out and got it all out and tried to put it in spin mode and could hear something spinning. I figured just the belt came off.

I flipped it up at an angle to look at it and it looks like one of the 3 points that the belt goes through is worn down. When I turn it on I can see it spinning but with the belt put back on, it doesn't spin (and it's not taught so it makes sense it won't spin). The belt looks like it also needs to be replaced. I can't remember either this may be the bottom of the motor that I replaced in there too.

I'd rather just fix this part if I can rather than getting a whole new washing machine if possible.

And apparently that is not part of the motor. The motor is the bottom part of the "triangle" there based off the pic on the Amazon listing.

Well actually I do think it is the bottom of the motor but what the hell that piece just completely came off?

The make and model of the washer would be very helpful as far as finding a mechanical breakdown of the parts you are asking about.

It appears that something is bound up and the slipping belt melted the pulley on the motor.

It's a Maytag PAV2300AWW.

Pay attention to the note about the series (revision) #, I saw on several sights that completely different looking pumps were listed as compatible.
Personally, I would go with the one that matched the series (revision) as it should fit without a problem (and get a new belt too !)

The drain pump isn't the part where the pulley burnt away. That is the motor. The drain pump I have already replaced a while back and I can manually turn it no problem from under the washing machine.

That only leaves the motor or the transmission.

They all turn.

When I turn the machine on in "spin" the pulley spins but it's just gone. And everything else under there I can turn manually by hand very easily with minimal effort.

Looking back and based on the piece I found under the washing machine, the pulley "disc" thing wasn't the same one in the pic above. It was this black cheaper plastic one and thinking back I remember getting the new motor and noticing it was different.

And my belt looks like it's pretty much messed up too. Like parts of it are thicker than others.

I think if there was some way to get that pulley disk piece and a new belt then that is all I need. I'm not sure if that pulley disc thing is even replaceable. I'm going to try and get off the remnants of it a bit later. It looks like there are some clips that a flat head screw driver could maybe pry off.

Got the pulley off and found a new one so I am ordering that and a new belt and crossing my fingers that I don't have to spend hundreds on a new machine. This machine is old but it still works fine.

Also possible when you installed your new parts that you over-tightened that belt. It should be taut but have give to it. If it's too tight it will burn up the pulleys quick. Surprised you hadn't smelled burning plastic and rubber

I didn't tighten anything really. I just put the new motor back and put the cable back on it.

Took 2 minutes to install it yesterday and it's working fine once again. I did 2 loads of laundry today and definitely noticed that it spun more water out than before. My clothes were definitely less wet after the cycle than they were prior. So I'm guessing that something had slowly been going bad for a while and it just finally went completely.
