What is this NV Stress Test in Event Viewer?

I have a GeForce 6 series card. In Windows XP if I go to Event Viewer > System, there are loads of Errors with red crosses next to them. When I double click on it, it brings up its properties which says Silent Running: Stress test transition: L2 -> L1. Its Event ID is 106.

What is it doing? I heard that GeForce 6 cards do this often. You might have this error too...

Ignore event viewer. It's nothing more than a can of worms in disguise.
