I do apologize for my ignorance. But I am ordering a new computer through Monarch. I am wondering what ..."LSI Logic MegaRAID SATA 150-6 6 Port PCI 64/66 RAID Controller" ...and whether I should get it. I understnad alot about you computers......no,...I really do, .....(stop laughing)......but I don't know exactly what this does. Please give me an explanation IN LAYMAN'S TERMS....as to what this exactly does and whether I need it. I am ordering a AMD FX53 CPU , 2 GB DDR Memory, 6800 Ultra Video, MSI motherboard, etc....want "top of line" computer.

Please explain in layman's terms and then state whether I need it.

Thanks.

If you have to ask this question, you certainly don't need this! :p

This is a mid range SATA RAID controller that allows for six SATA drives and supports a variety of RAID modes such as 0/1/5/10/50.

Cheers!

Yes. Yup. Absolutely. And I agree. :D On all counts.

The OP...who is obviously 14 years old (see "Matrix Influenced User Name") doesn't really know all that much about computers. Sure; the BIG button makes it turn on. :D

Buddy, it's all about knowing about the PARTS. Not "Dell vs. Alienware." :disgust:
