What Is This KB & Why is it so Cheap?

Hi,

Was just looking thru the what do U like in a KB? thread.....grew sudden lust for a mechanical one, I only use the good Cherry membrane ones with the laser etched keys, they last forever.

I never had a mechanical KB.

So I went on eBay and found these:

What are those? Why are they so cheap?

At least I am sitting here typing on one of my lovely cherry membrane KBs.....and laughing at myself.

Yes, I initially thought they were actual mechanical KBs. Yes, for that money.

Not even keycaps, just decal stickers to put on keycaps where the lettering has worn off.

Beyond hideous. Must cost them a dollar to make those stickers.

Save people the expense of getting new keycaps. Heavy typists can wear out pad printed decals (or darken laser infill).

Interesting. Never thought of that. My low end Cherry membrane KBs have laser etched keys---on mine there are no recesses--- and the imprints never wear out or darken.

I think all KBs should have laser etched keys as mine do. But, I guess it costs more.

Edit: Mine also have smart card readers. I don use them, tho.
