What is this CREATURE that raided my chilli pepper plant?

I grow several plants in my patio, and one of them happens to be a chilli plant. For a couple weeks now, everytime I go out there, I see these dried up balls around the plant. I had NO IDEA what it was until I found this sucker leeched into one of the peppers this morning. It's his poop.

I put him in a jar along with 5-6 chilli peppers at 9am. By 5pm, he ate them all! And more poop!

What the hell is it? Can I eat him and recover my lost chilli peppers?

We had those eating our tomatoes this year. Freaky as hell. Horned tomato worms are what they are called.

I felt violated when they were here!

The poop balls are probably spicy too. You should put them into an empty pepper mill and served to your liking.

I think it's the same caterpillar that turns into a hummingbird moth. Put your finger in there, I think they try to act aggressive with the horn thingie. Don't worry, it won't poke you :)

Nah, you have to eat the poop to recover your lost chili peppers.
The worm would taste nasty.

Wonderful...the thing was so camera shy, it shat itself when you took the pic :p Probably has one heck of a case of heartburn, too.
