What is the purpose of this card ?

It looks like a mislabeled 7900GX2 to me, the OEM-only card that never made it into retail channels. It had the same specs as the 7950GX2 but was much longer and wouldn't fit in most cases. Maybe EVGA had some extra stock left over and decided to sell them off at retail as the OEMs wouldn't buy those anymore, although Newegg's asking price for it is ridiculous.
