Hi there,
There is this particular file Mainserv.exe that starts up on my computer from the middle of nowhere and hogs a lot of my resources(99% of my cpu and lots of memory 4mb). This really slows down my comp Athlon 64 3200+ on A8N SLi Dlx with 1 gb of RAM. Any ideas.

Are you using PowerChute? Otherwise, it might be spyware.

Yes,
I am using powerchute as part of the ups software provided by APC.
How do I solve this problem?

Uninstall powerchute via add & remove programs.

Any other solution, apart from uninstalling powerchute?

Try to install newer software version, or b!tch and moan to powerchute till they fix it.
