I'm going to stay in California for six weeks, I don't need anything to do for six weeks, but this weekend I am meeting up with a good friend who just recently moved there (like a few weeks ago). We'll be around the San Francisco area (he lives in Santa Rosa), any cool places to go/things to do for the weekend?

Pac Bell Park...and after you're done with the game, chill down at Pier 39. Also, there's some coo cars on one of the Piers...somewhere around Pier 33...stretch hummers and so on...

I think the appropriate question here is:

What is not there to do in California?

Yeah, the SF/Bay area is a cultural wasteland, stay at home and sleep. LOL

I don't know what you like, but I had a lot of fun up in Napa and Sonoma counties drinking the wine and driving around.
You also can't go wrong with going to a baseball game if the Giants or A's are in town. They are both descent teams now and if you can see Bonds hit one out, that would be cool.
If you have a couple of thousand dollars to spend, Sears point raceway is up there (that is where Nascar and other tours go) and you can take a driving school with a sweet ass super fast car. :D

The Russian River used to be pretty fun and Stinson Beach wasn't too bad either. But that was about 9 years ago - things could have changed.

if you like nature.. lots of places to visit
if you like mystery = go to the mystery spot in San Mateo.
if you like wine = sonoma county
if you like driving take PCH... also visit the 17 mile drive off Salinas/Monterery Bay
if you like thrill rides = goto great america park..
if you like to visit some tech areas, drive around the major tech hubs of intel, oracle etc etc.

there are just lots to do .. 6 weeks is more than enough to see all of california.

And by the way dont forget a flashlight for notheran cali.. and dont forget to visit southern california.

Got to aggree with SavageDubz Pac Bell park if you are a fan of the game. Don't worry about tickets just bring your wallet and lot's of cash and you can get some good seats from the guy's on the street.

Enjoy!!!!!

SoCal?? WTF?!? Yea, go there if you want to be stuck in traffic all sweaty yelling at some Meathead truck driver. Disneyland is for sissy boys. Have you ever heard of Broadway Ave in SF? Well anyways, look for it. My personal fav spot is in North Beach. Its called Jazz at Pearl's. The music is bombeezy and the people are nice. If you want to go to an amusement park you can go to Great America which is only an hour or so South on the 101. Hope you enjoy your stay. Peace.

Nothing, get the hell out of my state :)
Nah, you have to go to the Rain Forest Café if you have never been to one. Best place to eat, very memorable experience. Pac Bell Park is pretty cool too.

How far is SoCal from SF? heh.. pretty damn far. It depends on where you consider Southern California starts. At least 300+ miles. I think 370 miles or so gets you to Santa Barbara. Could probably get you to LA if you take the 5 intead of the 101.

I would go to PacBell, but my friend isn't a big sports fan. Also, The weekend i am seeing him is 13-15, and the all-star break ends on the 15th, the day I am going back home (to my uncle's).

I have been to the mystery spot, which is really cool. I guess I'll hit the amusement park nearby... What is Broadway Ave? anything else guys? =)
