hi !

i proceeded some tests about performance of our firm ERP on my desktop computer.
And from the old xeon 5130, i gains 15s on the longuest task ! (during 30s on the xeon) what is a big deal !

i own a core i7-975x cpu, and i'd liek to know what is the xeon architecture and performance equivalent of it ?
Just remind my i7 is a 4xcores of 3.33GHz release in year 2009

thanks for help

From what I could find that is the bloomfield core/codename chips.
The xeon equivalent would be the 3500 series chips, and this one W3580 is probably the exact match for the i7-975x

thank you.

i did a little search , and it seems the E5-1620 will be a better choice than the W3580

Because it is newer, speed clock is highter and we do not need multi-socket.
Moreover, it is 4x less expensive and more powerfull !

The E5 is also on a completely different socket. You'll need a new motherboard too.

Yes the E5 series would be a more comparable version, if you where building a new rig because of the different socket/chipset needed

I probably miss read the question. thats what I doing that before having coffee :)
