Both 66 and 395/95 through the entire county of Fairfax. :disgust:

Wilson Bridge can be backed up coming from Maryland much more so then going eastward on it. And 50 on the weekends in summer at either end of the Bay Bridge *cringes*

Interstate 66 without a doubt. It is the magic road that gets narrower the closer it gets to the population center. Government planning at its finest.
If you Virginia drivers would stop rubber-necking, it would make things much smoother. :D

Bedford doesn't have an Interstate near it, and the environmentalists and farmers don't want them to build the I-69 extention through here. It's a hotly debated topic.

The Bay Area sucks in general for freeways. But, for me the worst are, 880 South between Auto Mall and Dixon Landing in the morning. And 880 North between Brokaw and Dixon Landing in the evening (luckily I get off before the next worst part, right after Mowry Ave).

495 (L.I.E.) East and Westbound, especially around Cross Island Pkwy exit.
Northern State East and Westbound, especially around Cross Island exit.
Cross Bronx.
278 (B.Q.E.) especially around Gowanus and Kosciuszko Bridge.
If you go out east on the Island to around the Hamptons, etc.. don't leave to go there on Friday evenings, it could take you 5 hours from where Montauk Highway starts.

I-35 through Kansas City

if you are going south on I-35, through Kansas city, not only does it go down to one lane in places, you actually have to exit to stay on the freeway!! :Q

: ) Amanda

I-20's problem is that it is *always* under construction. It's almost faster to take that highway that runs next to it (80 I think)

Toronto traffic is hell during rush hours... the worst offenders are:

Gardiner Expressway - Raised highway built above the city that is the main east/west corridor to the downtown district. Can't be expanded without ridiculous cost of adding to a raised highway.

Don Valley Parkway - the main North/South corridor to the downtown district, it was built in a valley beside a dirty ass river, so it also cannot be expanded because there is very little space left.

401 through the core of the city has seemingly eternal construction that snarls traffic at the same spots every day.

Not to mention the fact that Toronto drivers are some of the worst out there.

All the interstates are a nightmare during rush hour here in Atlanta, but I-285 (the loop that goes around metro ATL) is ALWAYS a nightmare. Minimum speed not to get run off the road is about 75 (85-90 in the left lane)....people passing you on the left or right, crossing three lanes in both directions to get around slower traffic....it blows, ask anyone else who lives here.

The dreaded Cross Bronx Expressway is by far the worst. The potholes are like craters and the traffic is backed up bothways everyday. These roads were never meant for this kind of volume, whats this world coming to ?

Here in the Washington, D.C. area, the Springfield "Mixing Bowl" has to be about the worst one. This is where Interstates 395, 495 and 95 all combine together.

Here's a picture that doesn't show much detail of the mess: Mixing Bowl

Definitely 880 when it merges into two lanes right around Milpitas. 101 is also pretty bad at all hours of the day. But, 280 isn't that bad... at least not for me. Whenever I'm commuting to work, it's usually pretty clear.

The 10 can be bad at times but never as consistently as the 405.

Driving from UCLA to UCI is a freaking pain in the @ss
intersects 10,105,110,710,605,55 and traffic just sucks

Yep...Malfunction Junction. Saw this just the other day:
The resolution to name the recently collapsed and rebuilt part of Interstate 65 "Tim Dison Memorial Bridge" unanimously moved through the Alabama House of Representatives...Dison, of Killen, was driving a tractor-trailer truck on Jan. 5 when a car cut him off, leading to an accident and an explosion. Witnesses said Dison, 34, did all he could to avoid hitting other vehicles in the accident, and probably saved others' lives in the process...The Jan. 5 accident happened where Interstate 20 and Interstate 59 meet with southbound I-65. Torey Santos Tubbs, 18, moved into Dison's lane in an improper lane change about 10:30 a.m., according to a police report. The tail of Tubbs car hit the tractor-trailer, and Dison lost control. He was able to avoid other vehicles before the truck flipped on its side and hit a guard rail. The accident ignited nearly 10,000 gallons of gasoline that Dison was hauling. The heat of the fire caused the I-65 bridge to collapse.

I used to drive 'the' 22 from beach blvd. to orange going through the orange crush, that was a parking lot most of the way. What a nightmare that drive was. The problem with the 22 is that it is only 3 lanes. One of the smallest freeways in So. Cal, but still lots of traffic that always got jammed up at the orange crush.

HWY101 in California. i used to live right off the thing (property touched the freeway), and whats worse, was the street that merged into it. i've seen like 2 dead people, and about 30+ wrecks.
