Was just recalling the time i fell out of a ski lift when i was about 10-11 years old... Southern New York state, i think the place was called Mt. Peter or something....

I guess they forgot to de-ice the lift or something cause im riding along, happily swinging my skis when my ass slid, i slide right under the bar, and fall about 30+ feet to the snow below... Luckily it was soft powder that day, still hurt like ever loving hell.... Nothing broken except my ego and my skis... thank god...

Anyway, what about you?

When I was 6, I was bouncing on my bed, landed funny and smacked my skull on an iron radiator. Still have the scar.

I assume you mean accidental.

18 or so feet off a roof onto a rock retaining wall. Had to have surgery.

edit: fixed typo

Just a couple weeks ago at a rock climbing gym.

I was climbing up a free-hanging rope, about a 20 foot climb. Just had gotten to the top of it, was reaching up to smack the beam that it was connected to, and bap! The bolt holding it to the beam came out and dumped me on the ground. Broke my foot and I have a lovely glow in the dark cast on right now. :(

On Whiteface Mt. in Lake Placid. Downhill on my Santa Cruz Bullit. Going to fast and misjudged a log, hit the back tire and I went end over end at about 45-50mph...

Back in 3rd grade I forgot to change out of gym shoes. A girl stepped on my shoelace, I tripped, went flying and hit the corner of the desk right next to my eye. Had to get like 8 stitches and was bleeding profusely.

It was awesome.

Fell off the balcony backward, about 10 ft. I was 12 years old.

Knocked the wind out of me but the most remarkable thing is that I saw my whole life in front of me before I hit the ground!

Anybody else had this experience?

I nearly had a bad ski fall:

It was my first time skiing (and so far only time, but I want to go again). I had gotten the bunny hill ok, but everyone (including my ski instructor cousin) kept telling me to lean to turn. Well, I lean and I keep going straight. I lean more and I fall over (going straight). Long story short, I tried the slope that was two steps up from the bunny hill in difficulty. Right as the ski lift drops you off, you have ~5 feet to do a 180° turn. If you don't? You have 5 feet until you reach a ~40 foot jagged cliff straight down with no barrier preventing the fall. Needless to say, I tried leaning and kept going straight. I purposely fell backwards and luckilly stopped with my skis off the cliff edge but I didn't go over. It took me hours later to figure out that to turn you put pressure on one leg and DON'T lean.

My actual fall:

I was ~6 years old, sister was 8. She wanted to pull me on her bike while I was on roller skates. Everything was fun, until I wanted to pull her. She refused and got angry. She decided to make my ride hell. After a few minutes of failing, she suddenly tried stopping from a full sprint. I skated past her until the rope was taught, I fell. Well, she didn't quite stop in time and ran over me. But she tried stopping WHILE running over the back of my leg. Yep, the tire skidded all the way up my leg and thigh.

The skin was ripped to shreds in a ~2 foot long stripe ~1 inch wide with dirt, gravel, and rubber stuck into the wound. I was in immense pain as my mom washed that stuff out. No, it wasn't a bad fall. No broken bones or anything, but it hurt.

Oh it was a sight to see... luckily, I could laugh at myself with everyone else so it was ok, and i did not hurt myself, but it was memorable. Now i have a fear of heights because of it!

Back in January, I went with a few friends to see snakes on a plane. We were a bit adrenaline high on the way back, so we had a race. The race involved going down stairs. I was a little behind, so I decided to jump the last 12 steps or so to LAND ON A CONCRETE SIDEWALK. I landed, rolled, did everything right.

Right Ankle: Perfectly fine.

Left Ankle: Half-torn lingamnet, was on crutches for 2 weeks, still slightly swollen, but fully functional with no pain.

2nd runner up was when my choir was caroling at a local mall. We were inside LL Bean and the ceiling was low, and us guys were in full tuxedos, under a heating vent. I've never fainted at a chorus concert before (although it is known to happen), and I thought I had it under control, but the next thing I know I fall flat onto a concrete floor.

Couldn't move or talk for the first few minutes after coming too. Turns out I got a pretty bad concussion out of it.

I've done the 40mph bike handlebars thing... 15 feet off a ladder into a barbecue... skiied up the little hill to the chalet, flipped over the fence and fell straight in the door of the first aid office (knocked out cold, and about 6 years old).

Man, I've fallen a lot.

Fell off the top bunk of a bed onto a desk edge, giving me a nice gash in the back of my head. One of my roommates found me in the morning in a puddle of my own blood. No, I had not been drinking the night before.

Oh dang, I forgot an even more painful fall. It too involved my sister.

I was 6 or so and my dad took us, and my sister's best friend, to a park so he could fish. We found a teeter-totter and were having fun. My sister (probably at least 50% heavier than me) decided to hit the ground hard so that I would fly a few inches off the seat.

After a few times doing that, her friend joined in. With both their weight (combined ~3 times my weight), they would hit the ground hard. I went flying into the air. Probably not too high, I don't really have any basis to know how high I went. But I flew up, and came back down. I came back down strattling the support bar between several teeter-totters. I came back down landing on that bar with the full force on my crotch.

To this day I've always wondered if I could have kids.

1) About 5 years old. I was jumping over the ropes that form "lines" in the bank. My dad kept telling me, "Stop doing that, you'll hurt yourself." I didn't listen. I kept jumping over the ropes until my foot got caught during my last jump causing me to trip. I fell on the floor... then the sign that the rope was attached to fell over and smacked into the back of my head. The first thing I said after the sign hit me was "Daddy, are you gonna beat me?" Got 5 stitches for that one.

2) More recently at this year's CES. Was in a hotel room with Kris and Anh getting ready for the show start on Monday. I was in my dress socks and the hotel room had two levels seperated by two steps (bottom level, couch TV, etc. Top level beds, bathroom, etc.). Anh is sitting on the couch and tells me that the the new Lexus IS-F has been announced. I run over to where he's at forgetting about the two steps which are made out of wood vs carpet for the rest of the room.

My right foot hits the slick wood step, I fall forward and do a FACE PLANT into the carpet. Broke/shattered my glasses and knicked my eyelid (I'm lucky the plastic lens didn't cut my eyeball). Missed my meeting with Intel that day and cost me close to $400 to get replacement glasses that day b/c I can't see without them. I walked around half the day with half broken glasses on my face so I could see my way around Las Vegas. I sat through one meeting with Microsoft's operating system people w/o glasses on. I couldn't see sh!t, so I was just nodding and saying "uh huh" :D
