That stupid fcking chicken that stutters, Foghorn Leghorn.

Foghorn Leghorn did not stutter, he has a speech pattern sometimes heard in the south where instead of going 'uh,uh,uh,' while waiting for their brain to catch up to the next think they are going to say they instead repeat the same few words several times.
So, the sentence "uh, uh, uh, would you, uh uh uh, like to go, um, out, or um something" becomes "Would you, I said would you, like, I said like, to go out, and by that I mean go out, some time."

As for Bugs Bunny? Foghorn? They were the all time greats. Pre 1970's that is. They had characters based on actual movie characters. They were spoofs in and of themselves and constantly made pop culture and literary references seasoned with a bit of mallet-to-the-skull for those that did not get it.

Tiny Toons picked up much later, then fell off when they started going Enviro-Cruisader, and then Animamiacs came after that (all WB, not Disney...).

There were some others like Freakazoid (I loved Ed Asners character in that), but there are just so few that are entertaining for kids but can still make an adult laugh....

I think that so many people don't get this. Animaniacs and the old Loony Toons had a lot in common. They both were social commentary that was meant to be funny for kids as well. We just don't get the social commentary anymore, just like our kids won't get the Animaniacs social commentary.

Don't you dare talk shit about Transformers.

Consequences will never be the same.

if you think the shitty transformers cartoon was anything more than some half-assed marketing bullshit to sell some toys, then I don't know what to do with you.

But.. but I like transformers. :'(

I never owned toys though.. anyway.. that comment was not meant to be taken seriously. I like Transformers and you don't. Lets agree to disagree?

When my kids are growing up though.. I'll try my hardest to steer them away from MLP.. because I think that will just make them gay(No offense intended).

i grew up with transformers. they, next to GI Joe, were the only god damn things in the world that I cared about.

Also, I was 12.

that was my time. I had tons of those fuckers, I still have quite a few around and keep them for my 5 year-old nephew to play with.

Here's something I learned not too long ago that will totally not fuck up your life once you accept the fact of it: the bullshit they feed you on TV, as a child, is a lie.

just try and convince me that beyblades is actually worse than transformers. try.

lol.

80's action cartoons are easily the worst kind out there. Entirely mindless, stale animation, no humor, and even the action lacked a visceral component, mostly comprised of big muscly guys that just shot lasers around. The only redeeming thing from them is that clip of He-Man singing a dance remix of 4 Non Blonde's What's Up.

I just watched a minute and thirty on YouTube, and... D:

I was 8 when this first aired in '71 and even I couldn't stand it at the time, but my younger brother loved it. some of the worst cartoons ever were made in the 60's & 70's.

Hanna-Barbera was just so fucking lame.

There were exceptions, of course, but on the whole...

none of those are any different than transformers.

or thundercats.

or GI Joe

or any of that, really.

No way you can compare beyblade and pokeman to transformers, gi joe, etc.

Cartoons back in the day at least had a plot you could follow without having a seizure. Cartoons for the most part, (there are some exceptions) now, especially the japanese ones are a 22 minute what the fuck.

I can still sit down with my kid and watch older cartoons and some newer ones, like the new scooby doo stuff, the new thundercats is decent. But the other shit, especially the shit i mentioned earlier just jumps around like a retarded kid on riddilin. No wonder so many kids get diagnosed with ADD, its from watching that shit.

Futurama? (though it has gone down hill, but still, it can be pretty dang intelligent).
