That stupid fcking chicken that stutters, Foghorn Leghorn.
Foghorn Leghorn did not stutter, he has a speech pattern sometimes heard in the south where instead of going 'uh,uh,uh,' while waiting for their brain to catch up to the next think they are going to say they instead repeat the same few words several times.
So, the sentence "uh, uh, uh, would you, uh uh uh, like to go, um, out, or um something" becomes "Would you, I said would you, like, I said like, to go out, and by that I mean go out, some time."
As for Bugs Bunny? Foghorn? They were the all time greats. Pre 1970's that is. They had characters based on actual movie characters. They were spoofs in and of themselves and constantly made pop culture and literary references seasoned with a bit of mallet-to-the-skull for those that did not get it.
Tiny Toons picked up much later, then fell off when they started going Enviro-Cruisader, and then Animamiacs came after that (all WB, not Disney...).
There were some others like Freakazoid (I loved Ed Asners character in that), but there are just so few that are entertaining for kids but can still make an adult laugh....
I think that so many people don't get this. Animaniacs and the old Loony Toons had a lot in common. They both were social commentary that was meant to be funny for kids as well. We just don't get the social commentary anymore, just like our kids won't get the Animaniacs social commentary.
