Tom and Jerry.

That said, Pokemon, anime and most of what is done today is pure crap.

I always hated the scooby doo cartoon when I was growing up.

This. I hated the entire Hanna Barbera formula from that period...which lasted DECADES.

Lots of great material for Adult Swim, though :)

Michelle Bachman. I think of her as the Wile E Coyote of politics, so I consider her the worst cartoon character ever.

Heathcliff. No not the original, no wait, which one?
I hate the one that has wears a hat and hangs out in the junkyard.
Why are there two?
Pretty much, anything that was new when I was a kid was crappy.
I couldn't stand he man, gi Joe, etc.
I always preferred Looney Tunes, Disney shorts from the 30's to 50's, and Popeye. Basically anything before my time. I didn't like modern cartoons until Anamaniacs and Duck Tales came around.

Darkwing duck was awesome. In fact, that was probably a rare golden age of cartoon goodness for disney. Even Goof troop wasn't all that bad.

Now, almost everything is crap. Phineas and Ferb is one exception.

The Heathcliff cartoon had two completely different "shows." The first half was Heathcliff, the second was The Cadillac Cats. It's just like how Garfield and Friends had a second half about barnyard animals and the two rarely, if ever, crossed over.

Anamaniacs was the shit. I also liked Tale Spin.

All anime, of course, but the worst, by far, from my childhood:

It was the first of the really cheapo-crappy animation cartoons, and it had cheapo-crappy stories and characterization to match.

It was on the Sally Starr Show, hosted by a big breasted ex-hooker in a cowgirl outfit who became a genuine celebrity in the Philly area. We kids all watched because she showed Three Stooges shorts every show.

This made The Three Stooges so famous years after they'd broken up (their heyday had been in the 30's and 40's) that they reunited and made a couple of movies -- nyuck, nyuck, nyuck.
