I'd love to find a good one myself. Every one I've tried is useless. I'll connect to like... 100 peers yet it takes 20 minutes for a download to start and when it does, it trickles in at dialup speeds. It took 11 DAYS to download a 4.5 GB game.

I've had no luck with:
Shareaza;
BitTorrent;
BitLord;
Azureus.

I like uTorrent, but mostly use BitComet because they have a new encryption feature that helps circumvent the throttling my ISP does to the .torrent protacol.

Your using about the worst torrent you could use.

Azureus is the best because of its plug-in's. Offering much more usability then any other, although it can be a bit of a memory hog if you have a slow machine.

uTorrent roxx as well, small and very little footprint on your memory. But doesn't have near the functionality that Azureus does. I won't use anything but Azureus, I have tried them all and like it best.

Its kind of like FireFox, sure firefox can be a bit of a memory hog - but its extensions more then make up for it. And with 2 gig, it doesn't effect even the most hardcore game like Quake4 or FEAR by running in the background.

If you have a ghetto machine, use uTorrent.

I use Azureus cos it's the only one that does everything I want.

Are you sure you aren't behind a NAT firewall?

so what does Azureus do that utorrent doesnt? I switched and I thought it was the same with less memory hog.

Nice. I'll have to try BitComet's new version then. I like uTorrent myself, but this 10kB/s upload that I get on torrents is bs.

Big Bitcomet fan here. Does not hog memory (I have had Azureus hog upwards of 700 MB's!) and once configured properly is blazing fast.

And call me a lame-o leech (I seed to 150%up/100%down) but I love the fact that I can download from the "private" trackers. Though they are banning BC from what I hear.

But regardless. I love BitComet and have used Azureus, ABC, BitTornado, & uTorrent quite a bit in the past.

About the only thing BC is missing, IMHO, is the ability to set file priority within the torrent.

Because of its external tracker issues. It allows people who shouldn't be allowed on a tracker, to download from it even though they have no access. Almost all of the worthy torrent sites have banned Bitcomet 0.6 from being used on there trackers.
