What is the three most important factors for you in a relationship?

For a healthy relationship from a man's point of view (or mine):

FYI, I'm 23.

#1. Sex/Intimacy. A lot of people have said sex is a vital factor in a healthy relationship and I couldn't agree more. Stop being lazy after getting married, having kids or when your sexual libido is waning. Sex to men is like diamonds for women. If you can't have sex or not in the mood to have sex, is it that much of a chore to spend 10 minutes of your time giving him a nice relaxing BJ? Draining him makes a less likely chance for him to cheat too, so it's a side benefit:D

#2. Trust/Commitment. I'm the least bit jealous guy so this might vary. You can wear whatever tasteful sexy looking outfit you want. You can hang out with anyone you want. You can go out when you want. I'm not here to restrict you, but don't mistake my unrestrictness as a sign of you can do whatever you want and in the end it will be ok. If the trust is broken, I will question your motive, your intent, your reasonings for everything you do until the trust is sealed again, if it can at all.

#3. Ability to Auto-Cruise. It's a fact that guys need less maintenance in a relationship. We could sit on out butts and everything would be fine from our side. Women needs status updates. They need to feel connected and communicative with their partner. A compromising of the two extremes are necessary.

HaHa... Yea your posting says young 20something male all over it.

I am 30 and I love my nights I don;t have sex. Me and my lady average I say 6-10 times a week. Now that may sound good for one week, but that has been like this for many MONTHS now. I have been black and blue down south and my legs are so tired from all the pushing ;)

I say trust, friendship, and closeness.

Marlin is closer on what matters.

You find that special someone, you want a connection, closeness, friendship, trust, sharing, and great sex. All those answers eb and flow together into one. Your views will change as you get older. Learn intimacy, true intimacy, and opening yourself up to someone, nothing else like it. And only the top 3 huh. I feel intertwined with those answers, like I do a special someone.

You already sound like a old married man. It may take work to keep things alive at times, but, the rewards may last a life time.

It is not like what Marlin stated does not matter. My relationship, been close to three years, has a mesh of all of those. I just stated 3 most important, not the ONLY 3 - alittle clarification:)

- connection -- physical, mental, sexual
- compatibility -- does he understand what the hell i am trying to convey? Do we share similar interests or beliefs?
- commitment -- am i his priority as he is mine? will he be there for me? will he drop things for me?
