Just upgraded my rig from 1.4 T-Bird To Xp 1900+. Temp In Windows With HeatSink and fan that came in AMD box is 107 F. Case Temp Is 73F.
Is this A pretty good Temp??
Regarding the Thread Title: Depends on very many factors, such as case temp and heatsink and thermal compound, and the one factor you forgot to post: motherboard.
The motherboard alone really is the deciding factor in temp readings with the majority of AMD Chips and Motherboard combinations.
using a very pants hsf and a case with v.bad airflow im currently sitting at 113f(45c) chip temp at idle-ish. Its on a Soltek sldrv4 mobo and isnt overclocked at all.
Gonna be getting a new hsf and case soon, once i get paid
My XP 1700+ @1800+ (140FSB) runs between 48-52C depending on the temp in my apartment, with the retail HSF. It's gotten as high as 55C, on a really hot day (it was 92F here a few weeks ago) when the AC wasn't working. Those are all 100% load temps. I've never had a stability problem with that. I may OC more, but I'm going to wait a while and get an AX-7 to keep it cooler before I go any further.
How do you convert Celsius to Fahrenheit? I remember something like 6 Fahrenheit to every 1 degree Celsius, I think that?s wrong but it went something like that, anyone know?
My 1800+ @1701 is currently at 32 degrees. It loads at around 36-37. This is on an epox 8kha+, so I don't know if the temps are actually correct or not.
