What is the tallest/best mountain in midwest?

Im looking for a day or a two day trip.
I'm in pretty good shape and a beginning rock climber. So, Im looking for something little challenging as well. But mostly I want to goto a really tall mountain since where I live (chicago area) is mostly flat.

Where can I find the info on this?

thanx!

Good luck with that one. Tell me when you find the northwest passage and bigfoot too.

i know.. but im not looking for something like rockies at all... any midsize mountain will do 😉

The closest thing to a mountain you are going to find is the curving tail end of the Appalachians down near St. Louis... and those aren't much more than hills. Need to head to Tennessee for mountains.

I notice from your post that you have included "mountain" and "midwest" in the same topic ..

I figured I read it wrong. But no, it seems the OP is searching the midwest for "mountains".

Kind of like how when I moved to Minnesota from Colorado, people told me there was "good skiing". They say the same thing where I go to school...in Iowa. Must be something in the water.
