What is the stock vcore of a e6600.

i have been trying for 2 days to get a stable oc and anything over stock is bad. no matter the fsb voltage or the multi.

I have a 500 watt psu with a 20a +12v rail, Corsair XMS2 2gb ddr2 800 ram, ASUS P5B Deluxe/WIFI-AP, Zalman CNPS9500 LED. I'm not sure if the cpu or the mobo is faulty but I have the parts to get a nice oc.

First off, 20A on the +12v is LOW. Many higher-end supplies do 40A+ on that rail. Don't just look at total wattage! There are 450 watt supplies that are superior to some "600" watt models.

Secondly, overclocking isn't guaranteed. If everything runs properly at STOCK speed, then nothing is "defective".

Can you show me one? I don't believe I've seen anything higher than 30v on that rail.

Unless you are talking about 2, 3, or even 4 rail power supplies.

I belive the PC Power and Cooling has the highest amperage on any single 12v rail.
It has 34. (i think?)

Sure.

The ones I use in most of my rigs are these units. 34A on the 12V (38A peak).

Yes. And the 850 and 1000 have 60 and 70A respectively, although that is multiple rails.

Ok no more psu talk please I would like to figure out wtf is wrong with my rig so I can either replace it or something.

You still haven't even told us what power supply you are using! What 500 watt model do you have?

The Power Supply IS the MOST critical component in a system. Believe me, a weak or unsuitable supply can do all kinds of nasty things, and preventing overclocking is just one of them.

Is that the only possibility? I was able to push my 3800+ X2 to 2.7ghz with that psu. Since conroe uses less power wouldn't it be easier?
