The Canon Elph series is the best, anything smaller is usually made by an unknown brand and the quality of pictures if going to suck.

How cheap is 'cheap'?

I would like to have one of those little suckers!

you can't really make a good comparison on which is the smallest because that are so many factors involved in the different models (lens, zoom, MP, etc.).

2MP - Sony DSC series (no zoom, small LCD)- MSRP $199
3MP - Pentax optio S, (2X zoom) casio exilim - $399
4MP - Canon S400 (3x zoom) - $499

Not the smallest, but they're the smallest good quality camera I've seen, and huge LCD compared to the other tiny ones like Canon S200-400, Sony Cybershot U.

what a ass shot huh...

note that the casio uses pentax internals. that of the pentax optio, that is.

i'd rather take the canon s400. i evaluated both early spring when neither came out. i got the s400 around march, and couldn't be happier... sharper images.

That's what I'm wondering.

I want a digicam which feels solid and good in my hands. For that the Canon A40/A60/A70 are perfect, not too huge but not tiny either.

If I did HAVE to HAVE a small digicam, I wouldn't go any smaller than the Canon S230.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY THEIR PEN CAM

it is purely craps. I bought one from bestbuy and returned it to get my full refund the next day

So you can take it with you where ever you go. What's the point of having a nice camera if you don't have it with you at the critical moment to get a shot? I have seriously carried my camera with me 99% of the time in the last 9months. It's all about tradeoffs, is it more important to you to get a top quality pic 30% of the time or a decent quality 90% of the time?

I have the S200 right now and I'm fairly satisfied with it. I'm thinking of getting the Sony U20 now cause it's small enough to hang from my neck or put in my back pocket when I go out, which I can't really do with the Canon.

Just wondering. Thanks for explaining that. I currently have a Sony V1 and it is farily large but I do have a case for it. I am starting to carry it around with me wherever I go. I'm at work now, I'll probably take a few shots of my little kiosk and what not.
