No real need on Skt754; 3700+ is the most we'll get, but that's just about perfect for the next year or so.

They already have .09 winchester core mobile athlon 64's in socket 754. The die of the mobile sits too low for a standard 64 heatsink. Some folks solve this problem by cutting the corner stubs off the bracket so the heatsink will make contact with the die.

Just due to running one line of stuff they will make the move but there are a lot of Newcastles that have been pumped out...hmmm sounds like a wait and see.

Just for the simple fact that .09 allows more chips per wafer plus a whole new set of machines...they will run out of the .13 micron...just a matter of time.

As michaelpatrick33 stated. 90nm s754 A64 is not going to happen. In fact 754 A64's are slated to end Q4 this year if not sooner. Heck, s939 will start to migrate to M2 (s940) middle of next year.

Give it up. Except for Semprons and mobiles, s754 will soon be put to pasture like all the other technological artifacts.

harsh if you are a skt 754 owner, but it looks like it has come to the end of the line

If they keep making mobile 754s, then I wouldn't expect much of an issue for the 754 platform, as long as you can snag a good price on that mobile. For the record, running a rev. e Mobile 3400+ on my Asus K8N-E Deluxe. Only way to get one of the newest cores on 754 is to go mobile CPUs. That's the future.
