Thanks!Sorry -- I misunderstood. Can I climb on this bandwagon and partake of the knowledge that may come along with someone else's replies?
Oh, hey. I'm sorry. I misread your initial question. Just a minute and let me boot up my own Skylake-in-progress and I'll report back. Somebody else might have the answer before I get back.
OK. I was using HWInfo64 for real-time monitoring, and summary report was unchecked. But the i7-6700K values you seek:
Ring Max 4,100
System Agent 1,000
Thanks!I was wondering why clock for clock i7 6700k was so much faster than the i5 6600k at 4.2GHz overclocked, I can't change my ring max from 3500MHz or my system Agent 800MHz. Intel has me by the balls LOL, with a memory bottleneck to and from the CPU.
With your motherboard can you change Ring Max speed or System Agent speed?
I'm still learning about the chip and the chipset, so I feel unsure of myself. There is a setting in BIOS called FClk which can have values of 400 Mhz, 800 Mhz and 1Ghz. OC guides and info I've dredged up recommend setting it to 1Ghz. Whether or not you can do that, depends on your BIOS options.
And I could be confused myself as to whether Fclk and SA clock are the same. They certainly have the same values.
Nor would I know for sure the differences between the i5 and i7 processors in these matters with any precision.
