Can anyone tell me what the reccomended operating temperature, and perhaps the max operating temperature for the AMD T-bird 1.2ghz chip is,I'm trying to install a quieter fan and I need to see if it is keeping the processor within the proper temperature settings.

I need this info quickly if possible!!!!!

thanks

95°C??!!
That is the MAX die temeprature the 1.2GHz Athlon is rated to handle!

I would say a good temperature for a 1.2GHz Athlon would be an idle operating temperature of 123° fahrenheit or lower.... equivalent to 50°Celsius or below.

I'll run at 37C-42C off load, 45C-47C on load. I believe ideal would be 37C-45C off load.

Newbies, Blah!!

The max the 1.2Ghz Tbird can handle is 95C, however motherboard with KT133 and KT133a chipsets don't give the "actual temperature reading". And even temperatures vary with different manufactures.

It's not very unusual to see 1.2 Ghz Tbirds in the 50'sC range and even the lower 60'sC range if that sucker is overclocked and @ 1.85v, I would certainly worry if it reaches upper 60's or higher. Also depends on how much cooling you have.....

My rule is that if you can run Prime95 for 24 hours then it's good to go. Beware though because if it gets too hot then you'll have a nice keychain! :Q
