Who made us and why?
Where did we come from, it strange all we know is
that I come from my parent
and my parent from their parent
Why do we live, why do we breathe, what do we hope to achieve in the future???
The easy answer would be to believe in god
but what is god
yes, what is it?
Do we not deserve to know? Are we not smart enought?

To best put it in perspective, one should understand that the universe is of God. Everything--matter, energy, time, space, the very concepts and abstractions we use to percieve and understand our shared reality--stems directly from God and is not in any way separate from God.

As part of God, one could then assert that we create ourselves. We are all posessed of free will and act upon reality as we see fit. The purpose of existence is to do exactly that--exist, to experience reality as a soverign, limited consciousness. To assume a difinitive "greater purpose" in life is to eliminate the point of life as this "greater purpose" would be inevitible leaving existence a purely academic excercise, real or not.

As far as you coming from your parents, grandparents, etc., that's just meat. Do not confuse your body with yourself; your body, along with the rest of physical existence, is merely a machine that allows to manifest ourselves in and interact with this shared reality. For everyone to play, there has to be a universal set of rules to play by.

Why aren't we born with this knowledge? That's another one of the rules--to exist within this reality, you cannot retain any awareness beyond this reality. Trust me, it's better that way.

Fell: I don't know, my body's pretty d*mn important to me. When I'm out on a 10 miler at 5:00 a.m. my brain may think I'm "one with the universe", but my body says the universe is my body. I believe in God, and soul, but we are still distinct creatures, part of God, but not the same as God. "I" am many things: body, mind, soul, experience.

I believe we exist to amuse God. Everyone needs a toy. :p

Let's see...

God made us.
As soon as there are enough souls that believe in Him and can praise Him in Heaven, God will get his seventh day and can rest.

Why do we exist? Specifically no one knows. For maybe this is one of those truths that everyone is better without.

My reasoning? We exist primarly to fill a void. If you look at things, there are good and bad things out there. There is a balance that fill things up. Each keeping a entire peace. In mathmatics, a positive 1 and a negative 1 when added makes 0. In essence, it is a void but a void filled with something. A void with something is better than a void with nothing. A higher being must have realized this and started on the ultimate project. The formation of stars...

Why spirits exist? Maybe we are our own entity formed through by the birth. Maybe we exist as to experience such a void that someone has created or we exist to partake in such a void much like a giant game. We experience love, hate, sorrow, happiness. To not experience true feelings is defeating the purpose of life. Maybe we exist to influence. For interaction breaks the silence of the void.

I know what you're saying, Chess, after all, without a body, you don't get to play. On the other hand, I'm reminded of the words of Mr.Morden from Babylon 5, "Flesh can be replaced, and flesh does what it's told." Just remember, that body that's so important to you (hey, mine is important to me too) will fail you someday. Guaranteed. So don't distinguish yourself too much from God. I ask you, how much different from the ocean is a droplet of water?
