I doin't wear an undershirt and never have.

My shirts look nice and are very comfortable. I don't need an undershirt to make it feel not itchy.

It's the textile equivalent of the floor mat. My undershirts get green stains from my deodorant so that my nice shirts don't have to.
Which is EXACTLY why I wouldn't be buying $10 undershirts. Just so I can throw it away in less than a year b/c it's nasty?

Sometimes i wear dress shirts. Depends on which ones. some are very uncomfortable and itchy.

When i have a sweater or sweatshirt on i always have a undershirt.

so your sweat and bodily juices don't get on your nice dress shirt.

Thats why I wear 'em, I get sweaty in the summer. It actually saves me on laundry too, I just change my underwear, socks and undershirt every day and I wear the rest of the stuff 1-3 more times. I only need like 3 outfits to get me through a week.

Ewww! I wear each shirt once and once only, before washing it.

it becomes a problem when you have shirts that cost $100.. if you wear an undershirt you don't have to wash them as often therefor it's less wear and tear.

I used to get all my shirts laundered when I wore Expensive shirts.

Now I just were polos and jeans so it's the wife who keeps them clean.

I really don't miss the $6 bucks a week I was spending at the dry cleaners though.

If You buy Pricey shirts get them laundered as it can be done cheaply and they look alot better and tend to last longer.

Holy crap $10 for an undershirt?? I work at a sporting goods/custom screen printing shop and we get white 50/50 tshirts for about $0.95 apiece so I get them really cheap and they're nicer than those thin Hanes ones.

ALWAYS wear an undershirt, it brings out the color of the shirt you're wearing on top (and just looks better).

and don't always wear a white one, either. Black, grey, even red are awesome.

Edit: don't buy cheap undershirts, either. If you aren't spending more than $10/shirt, then they are too cheap.

$10 an undershirt?! Where do you buy them, Abercrombie & Fitch? I'll stick with my 4-packs of Hanes, thanks.

Nah, ExpressMen has the best undershirts...

As you can tell by the replies, there are about 10 or so reasons to wear an undershirt. I'd say thats a pretty good number of reasons.

To keep me warm in the IT servers room. I always wear the normal t shirts, not the V neck types. I don't wear them if it is getting hot in the summer and down here in Louisiana, it can be pretty hot in August.

When price alone is how you determine value, you are being taken for a ride.

There's no undershirt on earth that is worth $10.

Ehh, it depends. You don't exactly want those thin, cheap undershirts with the collars that get all frizzy and nasty-looking after a couple of washes. Sometimes I wear undershirts just as a regular t-shirt, so that's why I spend more money on them. Nothing hotter than wearing a plain black t shirt and jeans.

Unless it serves a purpose, like underarmor.

I always wear standard T-Shirts under the button up shirts I wear to work. Then I just have to wash the T shirt unless I spill something on myself. Outer shirt doesn't get dirty at all and since I take it off right when i get home from work anyway, it's all good.

You have more problems than worrying about undershirts if you spend that much on a shirt.

I dunno. I never wear undershirts. It's an American thing. I don't understand wearing two shirts on a 100 degree Texas summer day. A shirt is a shirt. Don't wear anything under it and maybe you won't sweat. That is unless you are a fattie.
