It's been a while since I've had to do this (years) and I kinda forgot the correct way to do this.

I believe you have to do something like go to control panel and add a scsi device or something like that?

I'd appreciate some help here. :)

I just plug it in and use the latest drivers from Iomega. I haven't had a problem. One time I had to uninstall them and re-install them before it worked properly. Some people have had some trouble with NT 4 and Zip drives, but fortunately, not me. It is a pretty good use for a Zip drive on a stand alone computer. You can set it up to automatically back up one folder onto the zip drive. So is you have someone with a stand alone computer, they will be able to have a backup in case their hard drive crashes. This is very good for users that don't have a clue about making backups.

I have installed SCSI zip drives using different Adaptec host adapters AHA-1510A, AHA-2930C and 29160, both external and internal. The NT and W2K all recognized the zip drive after boot up without me doing anything. It is truely plug and play. You only need to get to disk management if you want to change the drive letter.

Yea, I should have been a little more specific about the situation.

It's an Internal IDE drive.
The bios see's it.
I run the Iomega utility setup program.
I reboot and the setup program see's the drive and finishes the setup.
It's visible in Win Exploder as D drive, but it doesn't work.
Disk manager shows it there as disk 1, but it shows it as being "offline"
I can't do anything to get it to work.

I Imaged the system with Win98 and the Zip works fine.

I hate NT4! :|

hehe

I currently have it working... though I am still working on an issue about reassigning the drive letter. I remember reading something this morning there about that, so I see this being resolved before I go home :)

The problem initially was a Stupid bios setting in these POS Dell optiplex Pheniox Crap bios! Gawd I hate Pheniox! :|
