Bought a Sansa E270 over XMAS. Amazing. Drag and drop music files, nice size. Removable/replaceable battery only $20. Expandable memory up to 2GB with SDmicro.
Look into Cowon/iAudio, they make some of the best flash players.
Edit: What other features are you looking for?
FM Radio?
Ogg?
User-replaceable battery?
How stuck are you on flash, would you accept a micro hard drive?
If don't want anything complicated, creative's V100 looks nice. You don't even need a usb adapter, it seperates into a flash drive. The 2gb version is about $50-70 on sale.

go for the new 8gb model! i wish i woulda waited, my 4gb e260 doesn't hold enough of my music.
I just bought a Creative Zen Nano Plus last night, my old yepp finally bit the dust..
I had a chance to use it last night and I have to say the sound quality is pretty damn good and controls and the menu is fairly easy to pick up.
paid $69 at Circuit city.
+ FM radio/recording
+ video playback
+ harder coating for less scratches
+ microSD slot to add more memory
+ thicker than nano = easier to hold
+ actual scrollwheel (LOVE that!)
