what is the point of the HS250h?

it looks like a corolla. it's roughly the same size inside as a corolla. its trunk is the same size as a corolla. it's barely faster than a corolla. it gets the same highway mpg as a corolla. so to go from 26 city to 35 city toyota wants an additional ~$12,000. awesome. i'll know exactly what to think about anyone driving one of those just as i know exactly what to think about anyone driving an X6.

flame on!

edit: grammar fail!

My roommate won one of these for a week as a contest prize or something. I got to drive it yesterday.....its like a corolla, with a really ugly interior and the pickup of a mid 90's econobox.

The sticker said 37k O_O

Umm the same reason why anyone would want to drive any hybrid.

Seriously... the price premium over hybrids aren't even worth it. I'd rather pay a premium for diesel. You get the torque and mpg.

the ES350 costs the same amount, has more space(camry equivalent) and gets 27 MPG HWY. the HS250 is the size of a corolla and gets 35mpg. thats not too much of a difference in mpg to justify the cost. unless if you live in the city (city mpg is 17mpg vs 35mpg) this car is completely useless. if anything it should start around $28-29k to compete w/ the TSX, because that's what size it is.

I talked to my friend yesterday about how it went, he said hes only getting about 30 city, which is pretty disappointing. He told me he gave it to his dad to go to work with, he came back at lunch to get his camry because he thought it was such a POS, haha

TSX is way bigger than a HS250
The current TSX is almost as big as ES350

ES350 can easily get 30-32 MPG HW if you drive it right also

HS250 is a joke

He's baaaaaaack!

yo r all your posts this informative?

Epic read fail.

1. The thread was about the HS250h (not the Volt).
2. This is a hybrid-electric and is not a plug-in like the Volt.
3. louiSSsss, any car you ride in (by definition) is a vehicle for idiots, because you are in it.
