What is the point of MP3 Gain?

It doesn't seem to 'normalize' the song so that the songs all sound the same and therefore I don't have to lower the volume when playing back music. All it seems to do is make it so that there isn't any 'clipping'.

It works for me, I normalized all my downloaded MP3s to 100dB before adding them to my libary.

i changed mine to 100 db and they are too loud. did you find yours are too loud now? i need to change mine to something lower.

maybe itunes messed them up or something?

The first thing that came to mind when I read this thread title was that the IRS might now be taxing "gains" when you purchase used Mp3 players. The gains would be the songs that are already on the player. 😕

Nevermind, carry on

Are you trying to be funny, if so, you fail miserably, agian, if you know you're going to fail, why do you try?
