What is the piece of computer equipment you've had the longest?

If you are anything like me, you've been slowly upgrading over the past few years, and sometimes, there is that one piece of computer hardware, peripheral, or computer related item that you've used constantly over the years. I was just cleaning up around my desk while I was burning a cd, and I lifted up my mouse pad to clean underneath it (somehow crumbs always end up underneath). I realized I've had this mouse pad since I bought my first computer, an HP 350MHz PII, in 1998. I know mouse pads aren't typically "upgraded" or changed out, but I've had this thing for 6+ years now.

Anything you've had that's been around a while?

Ewwww. I change my mousepad monthly. They get gross.

That said, the oldest peice of equipment I have is my old Dell XPS-R box, PS and mobo. Everything else in it has been upgraded away and it is now a file server for my house.

floppy drive is really old, USB zip drive is about 3 years old

I have a compleat and running Cele 600 thats gotta be 4 years old, w/ 4 year old monitor

mousepad. it was a Christmas gift from a friend in 2002.

I used to be using a floppy drive from 1997, but I finally replaced that a few months ago.

I have an old Duke Nukem Mouse Pad that is all messed up and written on. It came with the game so I can only imagine when I got it 🙂 Of course I don't use it though lol

the laptop im typing on has i think an AMD K5 233mhz maybe? got it from my friend a while ago... 64mb RAM and 2mb of video memory... LCD ghosts like crap...

oh well it saves electricity and doesn't scream like my antec box. i use this laptop to keep on AIM and BT on the 4gig HD too =)

The oldest I have or the oldest I still use?

For still use, my LaserJet 4P printer. This thing is just amazing, I'm not susprised if I get another 10 years out of it, I've had it for 10 so far.

For oldest I have, that would be an ISA video card pulled from an 286. It had a whopping 256K of memory and I believe was $500

Oldest thing I have now are my mb, chip, case, and video card, which I got at the same time for my new build ~2 years ago. At around that time though, I still had the monitor and floppy from the p-90 system I bought in '94.

quit spanking it as much, maybe you'll get 2 months out of it. 🙂

Mine is probably is a 3 1/2 inch drive that's been around probably 5 years. I think the drive is probably atleast twice that old though, confiscated it from work.
