What is the perfomance difference between 1T and 2T?

I recently upgrade to a AMD64 3000+(E6) and GA-K8NS PRO, I have 2x 512mb DDR400, my problem is that can't get 1T timings to work, when I enable it the PC restarts when it tries to boot into windows, but it runs 100% stable at 2T Timings.

does the GA-K8NS PRO work at 1T with 2 sticks of ram or only 2T, what is the performance difference?

My Kingston VR would only run at 2T. No problem with 1T using Corsair VS.

T2 is grossly over prasied. Get it if you can but in reality its only 2-3% over T2.
Consider the price of memory and a stable system I perfer just setting mine to T2 and not even deal with T1.
