Putting it into simple algebra... what would the perfect equation for a great movie be by following this formula?

[director] + [lead actor(ress)] + [producer] + [writer]= Great Movie(class)

I came up with 3:

[Oliver Stone] + [Al Pacino / Robert DeNiro] + [Oliver Stone] + [Oliver Stone] = Best Drama(Intense Action)

[Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg] + [Tom Hanks] + [Tom Hanks] + [Tom Hanks/Eric Roth] = Best Drama(True Drama)

[Mel Gibson] + [Mel Gibson] + [Mel Gibson] + [Almost Anyone] = Best Drama(gut wrencher)

like a movie watched yesterday, a movie called A Hero Never Dies. Its a HK movie but whats so special about it that...

**********SPOILER***************************

in the end of the movie there is a big shootout and everyone dies, and before that a few of the main characters die and in the end scene the rest of them die. So not a single main character survived.

Sounds identical to every foreign movie I've ever watched (about 10). They are always the opposite of Amercian movies (big shoot out at the end and all the bad guys die with not a single main character dead).

I'm unsure of your question: do you want (1) a movie that will be great or (2) a movie that will earn great amounts of money?

My formula for (1):

[unforgettable story line] = great movie
[everything else] = movie not worth watching

My formula for (2):

[Lots of ads] + [stars at their peak] + [hit music] + [more ads] + [more ads] = move that earns record amounts of money
[everything else] = flop
